Negative in Leishmania, Erlichia, Filaria and Borrelia.

She has a small dermatitis (skin irritation) in her hind quarters due to the dampness of the dogpound. She is being treated of it.

Like the title says: "The beauty nobody cared to see"

There are tons of cases that arrive to Pro-Setter, most of them bring terrible stories and unpleasant experiences. We always say "If he/she could talk, what would he/she tell us...." But sometimes words aren't needed because, even if they don't speak our same language, they express theirselves in the best of the ways: being themselves.

We have named Enya like this because it means "Small Fire" in gaelic, and we think it fits her perfectly, because behind that mask of fear and sadness we find a setter with a lot of fire to be discovered.

It is terrible that she had to go through a horrible life, we don't know if she was abandoned by a family or by hunters, but we do have information about her before her entrance in the dogpound. This is her sad story.

Enya was found by the Animal Control Service while she was wandering drunk through the streets. She crashed against lamp posts, buildings, cars...Yes, you have read it perfectly, she was DRUNK....Someone decided to make fun of her and left her stray in the streets after intoxicating her with an alcoholic beverage. Something that could have ended her life that same day.

¿How sad, don't you think? That a person (if it can be called "person") decided to do something so horrible, macabre and demented...In which society do we live? In which world? Which education is given to our society concerning respect to others? None? It's enough!

We tell thousands of stories of our dogs, of every rescue, of what they tell us from their own silence, of their fears...We see terrible things, we see mistreatment, we see humiliations, we see dogs agonizing, we see dogs dying in our arms because some loser tried to end with his dog's life before we could do anything. We see lot of things, but this is the last straw. When we learnt about Enya's story it hurt us so much, but unfortunately it didn't surprise us.

There are lots of people (too many) who don't have the faintest idea things like this happen, but others that are starting to open their eyes and all ask us the same question "Does this really happen? I couldn't imagine!" and we answer the same thing: "It happens everyday, but they pay less attention to it each day that passes" Why? We don't have an idea. Where are we getting to? We are tired of writing the misfortunes of the dogs we rescue, the suffering and sorrow they bring inside their wounded bodies and souls, their problems of behavior or health from which we have to face from the start, not knowing if they are cause from this or that thing...Our work starts at that very instant, on that very moment when the dog arrives and we try to make them see that their lifes are worth everything, that not all humans are shit, that there is a place where lots of humans respect and love them. And I think...wouldn't it be better if we did things right, from the start?

Enya is recovering right now, she is scared and doesn't trust people. Soon she will show her setter-doggy side and will be again the marvelous dog we are sure she is, but nobody cared to see before.

Let's change Enya's world!
