Behavior / Story

OCTOBER 2011 UPDATES:

Gataca is evolving well, but still has quite a lot of gastrointestinal problems and the veterinaries have found arthrosis in her spine...so we have already started with new medication to treat her. She is ok, happy, has fun, plays, and walks...But years weight and health problems accumulate...

We need sponsors to help us pay for her medicines, which are not cheap. If you can help, at least with part of it, please get in contact with us.

SEPTEMBER 2011 UPDATES:

Gataca's health is very well in almost everything, except for her arthrosis and gastointestinal problems. She takes medication for her arthrosis and her stomach problems, and also eats special food for sensitive dogs so as to be able to digest it.

She also arrived deaf and we do not think she will improve in this aspect.

Despite all this, she is a very merry setter and absolutely loves being surrounded by people, dogs and cats. She is very amiable with the whole pack but with whom she has special affinity is with Rouge, another old and deaf setter mix. She spends hours resting curled up with him.

Gataca... pure sweetness, pure tenderness and marvelous in every aspect!

She comes from the same sad and terrible situation as Norris, Yanca (now adopted) and Trasgo. Poor Gataca has never received a little bit of love in her whole life. We do not say it just for saying; we are sure of it because we know many cases like hers. When you caress her or speak to her she starts trembling like a leaf because of the emotion, as she is not accustomed to the attention and love.

Gataca is 10 years old, an as an elder she needs tranquility, calm walks and a lot of love. She is very good, pees and poos outside and likes to lay beside you.

The truth is life has taught her to appreciate the good things and she shows us that every day. Despite her hard life she is happy and thanks company. What can we expect from a dog who has spent all her life behind bars? What can we expect if the poor thing has not known, in her ten years of life, what is the warmth of a home and of a friendly hand? It is so sad we shiver just to think of how many dogs of her age are passing through that situation...it's terrible, just terrible.

Fortunately Gataca's destiny has changed when she found a place in Pro-Setter where we have all the love and attentions she needs and more. She has found a happy ending to a life of sorrow, loneliness, mistreat and total abandonment.

Gataca needs SPONSORS to help us with her expenses of maintenance and medicines. We know it's difficult an adoption because of her age and that is because we need so much your help.

Please we need help with the older dogs, they are the least adopted and the ones which more expenses generate! Help Gataca!
