| OCTOBER 2011 UPDATES Vega is so much better! She still needs some time to reach full recovery as her extreme thinness and wounds will take some months to heal competely, with treatment and good food. Yet she has gained quite a lot of weight, you can't feel her bones no more and now walks with less difficulty. Her hair has grown a lot and truly, she looks like a new dog! She's getting very pretty, as you can see in her new photos. Vega has some really fabulous sponsors who help us with her maintenance and veterinary assistance, but we still need some more help with her, because she eats special food and visits the vet frequently. As we said before, because of the state in which she arrived, she still needs some months to be a 100% recovered dog. If you'd like to lend us a hand with Vega's recovery, please get in touch with us! This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it SEPTEMBER 2011 UPDATES Vega has improved a lot this last month. She is much more active and cheerful. She gets along great with the pack and bears better the walks. Her looks also have changed for better. Some hair has started growing and has gained some weight. Her rib and hip bones no longer protrude, but she still needs to gain more weight and muscular mass. AUGUST 2011 UPDATES Vega is improving step by step. Truth to be said, this is one of those complicated cases and that's why physical improvements are not quickly noticed, but her emotional and psychological changes are being spectacular! Since arriving here her mood, her strengh and character have changed radically. She's much more receptive, she has even asked to take her for a walk, something that she had never been eager to do before, and is involving herself with the pack's activities . Spending most of the day laying in her bed, resting, has been good to her to collect strengh. She loves to linger on other dog's beds and can spend hours and hours sleeping. She continues with the medication for the anemia, leishmania and erlichia.Vega also takes vitamins to help her with the recovery. We will take away the medication on mid september except for the alopurinol for the leishmania. She eats quite well, we let her dish always full and the special food she has been prescribed works great. She is eating Royal Canin Adult food and is recovering nicely...she really wants to get well! We still need more sponsors because her food and vet is very costly for us. But for her wellness, we are eager to do anything, because she is a true example of strenght and struggle! ------------------------ JULY 20th UPDATES: Vega is evolving well. She takes her medicine every 12 hours and feels in the mood for fighting for her life. She is very fond of us and is an extremely grateful dog. We need economic support with her, for her medication, food and veterinary. Sponsors are needed for Vega. ---------------------------------------------------- Terrible... is the only word that comes to our heads when we want to describe Vega's situation. Rescued after having spent 3 years abandoned in the streets, the poor thing is covered from head to toe with ticks, with an advanced malnutrition and dehidratation. She also suffers Erlichia and leishmania (with miracolusly no organs affected) We are treating her of everything, leishmania, erlichia; she is also taking medicines for her anemia and vitamins. She is being fed with a high-energy and protein food. It will cost a lot to get Vega well, and so to archieve it we need your help! Sponsor Vega, or send her food, medicines, or make a donation. It's terrible... Vega and Gara, the english setter rescued in the same place as her, both need a lot of care, mostly Vega.
