| SEPTEMBER 2011 UPDATES Nuska is more than recovered and ready to be welcomed into a new family. She is recovered from the erlichia and is waiting for you to give her the greatest of the homes!!!! If you want to adopt Nuska, please get in touch with us: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it AUGUST 2011 UPDATES Nuska is getting better every day that passes. She's a champ! She is beautiful and very happy. When she is with us she's very cheerfull and tries to get our attention in every way! This big girl is marvelous! She continues fearful and shy, but much less than before. Her neck is almost cured, you can appreciate it in the photos, and is gaining weight litlle by little. She's still with her medication and in a short period of time will be fully recovered! Nuska still needs sponsors, her maintenance involves a high cot and we can hardly assume it alone! --------------------------------------------- Nuska....her worst nightmare? To end in the hands of someone who mistreated her and let her to die alone until she ran away from her chains.... Nuska was rescued by us when she was wandering alone, torn apart, almost without strenght and in terrible pain in the middle of some fields. You could deduce what her life had been only by seeing her wounded neck and her total malnutrition. For a long time Nuska has been a prisioner, tied with a heavy chain that has left her neck scarred, with no hair in it and seriously wounded. To that we must add the extreme thinness, other wounds scattered all over her body and her hardened and bald elbows due to living on asphalt and hard soil. Telling all this is not easy for us , to make you see the sad story of Nuska is not pleasant, because you look at her in her eyes and you see sadness, bitterness...the bitterness of being born in a world where your life is worth nothing and where nobody before has dared to look at her in the eye. Besides her health state described before, Nuska has arriven fully covered with ticks that have absorbed her blood until they left her with a serious anemia and erlichia, both which we are treating. -------------------------------------------------- Some days have passed and she is getting better, she is so kind, so special....we don't have enough words to describe her, to speak of her sweetness and gratefulness. After being so mistreated, so neglected, she still has faith in humans and that's something most people will never comprehend or accept. We must learn so much from them, of their strengh, their boldness, their forgiveness and their capacity to love! Nuska advances step by step, thanks to the treatment all the ticks have fell off but still she has to make an effort to eat and that worries us. We are giving her vitamins and we hope she will start eating and gaining weight soon. Nuska is very grateful and on walks, despite she tires a little, she enjoys a lot, because the only thing she wants is to be with you; when she sees you she starts wagging her tail and approaches asking for caresses. She is very loyal and walks unleashed by your side, she follows you every moment....because she knows good times have come in her life, the time for a change, when her luck has made an appearance and when she's gonna start living. The chain that imprisoned her has been broken at last and she will never again be mistreated physically nor emotionally, because Nuska has come to the world to share it with someone who loves and values her, and not to be an instrument of some demented. We need help with the medication, veterinary and maintenance of Nuska.
